POSITION
Summary:
The Lead Courier coordinates and oversees the daily activities of the Courier Services department.
Directs and dispatches Team Members engaged in the handling and transportation of materials, goods, and laboratory specimens in a diverse and complex 24/7 operation.
Collaborates and communicates with customers/clients, and utilizes Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and dispatch software.
Establishes and maintains accuracy of all pertinent data and work processes and procedures.
Evaluates the operations and makes recommendations for improvement.
Responds to and resolves customer inquiries, maintains accurate documentation, and assures the transport of materials in accordance with regulatory agency guidelines.
This position is based at the OSF HealthCare System Laboratory and is accountable to maintain a working knowledge of specimen collection and transportation requirements.

Current State Drivers License
Experience:
2 years of experience in a transportation, supply chain or logistics role.
Experience using applications on mobile devices.
Experience in resolving conflict and customer complaints.
Other skills/knowledge:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
