Rehabilitation Technician PRN

Description - ExternalThe Rehabilitation Aide has the responsibility of supporting the mission of hospital through providing an efficient and caring environment, create positive patient outcomes and enhance the quality of life.
In addition, the Rehabilitation Aide, under the supervision of licensed personnel, is responsible for performing departmental non-technical skills to ensure continuity of service.
Essential job functions may include transporting of patients, maintaining equipment and facilities, clerical and other miscellaneous duties.
Patient care is to be provided through an interdisciplinary approach to include a licensed therapy clinician, nursing and other members of the interdisciplinary team to provide timely, safe, and cost effective therapy.
These tasks are carried out according to hospital policy, hospital mission, and performance Improvement plan and within the scope of the Texas therapy practice acts.
Reporting RelationshipsReports to the Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
Education/ExperienceHigh school graduate or equivalent.
High school students will be considered under a student work program.
Previous experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting preferred.
Current BLS required.
Excellent communication skills necessary.
OSHA Task Category The normal procedure involves potential exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue.
Universal Precautions with patients should be adhered to in the unlikely event of accidental exposure with ready access to first aid.
Protective devices should be worn by the employee when performing tasks that may cause exposure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to transfer patients and equipment.
Frequent and prolonged bending, stooping, crouching walking and standing.
Ability to communicate and write in English.
Recommended Skills Basic Life Support First Aid And Preparedness Health Care Nursing Performance Improvement Communication Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
