Healthcare Technician

Serves as Health Care Technician (HCT), performing activities related to the personal care and hygiene needs of assigned patient group under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)Serves as a Monitor Technician (MT), responsible for observing cardiac rhythm patterns on monitored patients and reporting any variances to nursing staffFacilitates communication with other departments, visitors, patients, medical staff and employeesServes as a public relations liaison for the unitWorks under the direct supervision of the nursing manager.
Performs all essential job functions of Healthcare Technician (HCT).
Continuously monitors cardiac rhythm on each telemetry patient and communicates all pertinent information regarding rhythm changes or concerns to charge/assigned Registered Nurse (RN) in a timely mannerMaintains telemetry log book for all patients on telemetry.
Maintains and tests telemetry unit alarms as designated by the responsible Registered Nurse (RN).
Ensures proper function and operation of telemetry boxesMaintains count of telemetry boxes and ensures boxes are cleaned and prepared for next use.
Basic dysrhythmia class/education during orientation period.
Complete vital signs, including post procedure frequent vital signs Provide assistance with institutionalized needs including feeding and blood glucose as needed Complete hygiene care, assist patients to the bathroom Complete patient turns, I&O collection, daily weights Answer call lights Understands cardiac rhythms Watch monitors and inform RN of any alarms Document telemetry reading in EMR Answer phones and communicates effectively Print telemetry strips Recommended Skills Certified Nurse Practitioner Communication Nursing Public Relations Telemetry Well Being And Personal Care Apply to this job.
